British Tapestry Group: Sound and Weave / Rhythm of the Weave
22 November 2018 – 24 February 2019
Orleans House Gallery
This innovative exhibition explores the concept of sound, extending the horizons of woven tapestry away from the two-dimensional historical document towards an imaginative, multi-disciplinary approach. The emphasis is on sound and humanity and the internal processes of the mind and body in response to sound and rhythm.
The interpretations of the theme include exploring human voices in international conflict, inter-generational and internalised dialogues, sound distortion through ageing, disability, distance or mis-perception.
