Let’s Get Creative – Bank Holiday Fun and Play!

Inspired by our current exhibition Play Works and in celebration of warmer weather, the Turner Prize winning collective Assemble Play are taking over our grounds. Come and join us on the front lawn for a day of play. This event is free, open to all and a drop-in session (no need to book, just turn up).  

When you arrive, you’ll find fun props, bright colourful organza, dressing up clothes, buckets and spades for muddy play, hay bales for jumping and climbing, and much more. The event will ignite children’s imaginations and allow them to explore and discover in an open, creative, and supportive environment.  

Make a day of it and bring a picnic or have lunch in the Stables Café, enjoy more playtime at Play Works (please note you’ll need to book a ticket for the Play Works exhibition) and discover an exhibition of motherhood by Saroj Patel in the Stables Gallery.  

Key information 

• Tickets: This outdoor event is free and there is no need to book, just turn up.  
• Dates/time: May 25-27th, 11am-3pm 
• Age range: All ages are welcome, Let’s Get Creative is primarily aimed at 4–11-year-olds though most ages will enjoy this event.  
• Family Event: Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  
• Clothing: This activity will be outside on the lawn so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit messy.
