Objects of Disquiet
Kinetic beings made from coiled steel and inflatables will create a playful and sometimes unsettling effect as they dangle and wobble. Mandeep Dillon’s site-specific installation is a commentary on the ephemeral nature of human and non-human existence.
Using sculpture and collage Mandeep’s practice draws on a personal malaise to explore the fragility and vulnerability of human and non-human bodies.
She completed an MA in sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2019. Before graduating, Mandeep was a creative director and a documentary film producer making programmes about conflict, natural disasters and environmental issues in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
This exhibition is the first in Orleans House Gallery’s 2022-2023 Emerging Artists Programme, designed for early-career artists in the first 10 years of their development.
Private View is on 30 September, from 2pm to 4pm. RSVP with number of guests to Julia.Albertoni@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk
