A Very Georgian Garden - History and Landscape at Marble Hill
Book this hands-on expert-led workshop at Marble Hill Gardens and Orleans House Gallery made possible thanks to funding from the National Lottery and the support of lottery players. Devised for KS1 & KS2, it can be adapted for KS3 and SEN groups.
Take your class back in time to examine Georgian life through the story of Henrietta Howard, a courageous character who made a home and country retreat in this spectacular location set on the Thames. Your pupils will learn about the remarkable Henrietta through art, language and role-play to develop an understanding of how the landscape changed over time.
This workshop uses interactive and sensory activities to explore the landscape of Marble Hill House and its rich history. At Orleans House students will take part in an expert-led clay workshop using the landscape as inspiration. Please note that this is an outdoor workshop and that pupils will not visit the house itself.
Cost: £100 per session per class.
Primary schools and secondary schools in the UK with over 25% of pupils on Free School Meals arrangements in 2019-20 are eligible for a free session.
Standard terms and conditions for education visits apply.
