Orleans House Gallery, a historic brick building surrounded by gardens and trees

Our Octagon Room can accommodate up to 54 guests for your ceremony. The public gardens leading from the room are the perfect place to host your post-ceremony drinks reception.

There are plenty of beautiful reception venues along this stretch of the river. Why not catch a boat from the pier, situated just minutes’ walk from the gallery to your evening celebrations?

Our Coach House and Stables Courtyard are available for afternoon and evening receptions if you are looking for a smaller, more intimate setting to celebrate your day.

Simple ceremony

Simple ceremony bookings are for 1 hour only and are perfect for those wanting an intimate ceremony in the Octagon Room.

Wedding ceremony

Wedding ceremony bookings are for 2-hour exclusive hire of the Octagon Room for your ceremony (approximately 30 minutes) and optional refreshments should you choose to provide them for your guests.

Wedding and afternoon reception

The Coach House is available for afternoon receptions for a maximum of 60 people with catering provided by our approved suppliers. The offer includes 2-hour hire of the Octagon Room for your wedding ceremony and optional post-ceremony refreshments.

Wedding and stretch tent reception

The Coach House, along with a festoon-lit stretch tent and the hidden oasis of the Stables Courtyard, are available for exclusive hire for evening receptions on selected dates in summer.

Functions

The Octagon Room is available for a range of private functions including canapé and drinks receptions, private dining, cocktail parties, wine tasting and memorials.

The Coach House is available for seated lunches, standing receptions and events where you may require AV.

Frequently asked questions

Yes! The gallery is open to the public Tuesday–Sunday, 10am–5pm (last entrance at 4.45pm) and is free to enter, so please come along at a time that suits you.

We don’t offer initial viewing appointments, but if you let us know when you are coming we can confirm that the room will be accessible and arrange a phone call with you after your visit if you have any questions.

The Octagon Room is licenced for civil wedding ceremonies. We welcome celebrant-led ceremonies in the same way as legal marriages and civil partnerships.

  • Please fill in the enquiry form to get in touch with our events team and find out the availability for your chosen date.
  • We can hold a date for you for up to two weeks, without obligation, while you check with other vendors.
  • If you choose to proceed with your booking, we will ask you to complete a booking form. A non-refundable 20% deposit will secure your date.
  • Full payment of the balance is required 90 days before the event.
  • All information relating to giving notice, checking availability and booking registrars to attend your ceremony can be found through Richmond Registration Services. You must do this separately from your booking with us and in plenty of time before your ceremony to secure the date and time that you are looking for.
