Our History Tour will take you on a discovery of the stories of lives of the people who made, lived in and saved Orleans House. Covering the major highlights of the last three hundred years, you’ll learn about the royalty, politicians and gentry that enjoyed this hidden Twickenham gem.
From a retirement villa for a Scottish politician to Queen Caroline’s banquet in the beautiful Octagon Room, through to its unfortunate eventual demise and saving by a collector living next door, it’s a great way to learn about this important Richmond landmark and understand the inception of the home of the contemporary gallery today. Make the most of your visit by joining on our History Tour as part of your day out!
This tour lasts 45 minutes and the route covers the gallery buildings and outdoor spaces. Please dress for the weather!
