Looking Forward to Reopening
The pandemic has given us all a chance to rethink our lives and the team have used the last few months to consider what is special about Orleans House Gallery.
The Gallery will continue to be a place which offers people from all backgrounds a chance to encounter the arts and thought-provoking experiences. We also hope our visitors will have a chance to become involved and participate in different art forms. Our Cultural Reforesting Programme will bring an exciting group of artists and new commissioned work to Orleans House Gallery and grounds throughout 2021. A diverse programme of events, performances and activities will be presented in the Courtyard and Coach House.
We want to make the beautiful grounds and woodland accessible whilst making sure any changes are in keeping with the character and natural heritage of the site. We will be mindful that we share the ecosystem with many other organisms who have equal right to live and grow at Orleans. Our Grounds Plan will explore and promote our love of nature and enhance the area’s biodiversity.
To sustain the range and quality of our work we will continue to raise income through a range of activities. Our café and shop will offer visitors good value as well as ethically and, wherever possible, locally sourced products. We will offer hireable space for events and celebrations which are in keeping with the character of the place.
We will be a good neighbour as well as a valuable resource for the people of Richmond and visited by those from further afield.
On May 18th Orleans House Gallery will reopen to the public. We look forward to seeing you.
