We are pleased to share that we have been awarded £117,354 through Arts Council England’s Museum Renewal Fund, in recognition of the unique role we play in celebrating culture, creativity and community.

Councillor John Coombs, Spokesperson for Arts, said:

“Orleans House Gallery blends historic charm with inspiring exhibitions that reflect the borough’s diversity. With the generous support from Arts Council England, this funding will help ensure the gallery continues to inspire residents and visitors.”

The funding, in addition to donations and other income streams, will enable us to build a sustainable programme of events and activities, strengthening our capacity to deliver cultural initiatives beyond Council support.

This includes the newly launched exhibition Shadowscapes: Heaney, JMW Turner and Quantum, as well as initiatives that strengthen collaborations with local artists and communities.

The funding also helps develop and maintain the gallery’s art collection which tells the shared story of Richmond’s people and places through art.

This year, 75 museums have been awarded support through Arts Council England’s £20 million Museum Renewal Fund, helping safeguard the vital community engagement and impact made possible by public access to museums.
