Blaize Henry – a remarkable artist (1992 – 2026)
Blaize Henry performing as part of the exhibition, Brow of a God, Jaw of a Devil
We were truly saddened to hear about the death of the remarkable Blaize Henry. Those of us, audiences included, who were lucky enough to experience his performance as part of Himali Singh-Soin and Dr Alexis Rider’s Brow of a God, Jaw of a Devil exhibition at Orleans House Gallery were captivated.
His music still lingers in the Octagon Room and gallery spaces, as is the nature of special ephemeral performances. We can still see him weaving through Himali’s artworks, creating a layer of sonic beauty titled, Beyond the River. It is a semi-improvisational piece which explores the beauty, complexity and mystery of water, our human connection to it and the power it wields as the source of life on earth.
We treasure this memory and share our condolences with those closest to him, the friends and family who will be devastated at this time. His energy, creativity and collaborative spirit remain deep in our approach to the world, and we encourage all to take a moment to appreciate Blaize’s soaring work.
Thank you Blaize for bringing so much to our creative community and ecosystem.
