Celebrate with us as we open Shadowscapes: Heaney, JMW Turner and Quantum.

Award-winning artist and PhD quantum physicist Libby Heaney will unveil this highly anticipated exhibition and the unexpected connections between JMW Turner, quantum physics and the self.

To mark the 250th birthday of JMW Turner and the centenary of quantum physics, discover Heaney’s interactive dreamlike projection, powered by computer game software and quantum computing. Be one of the first to listen to Turner’s paintings and feel their reverberations with Heaney’s ever evolving digital-quantum sound installation.

Personal and deeply self-reflective, Heaney’s exhibition takes inspiration from psychotherapist C.G Jung, reinterpreting Turner’s use of light and dark as psychological metaphors for her own unruly emotions.

Join us as we open the doors for the first time and see the JMW Turner paintings that have inspired Heaney’s reflections – The Vision of Jacob’s Ladder (?) (c.1830), The Hero of a Hundred Fights (1800–10, reworked 1847), and Rocky Bay with Figures (1827–30).

This event is free, however, booking is essential.
