A Ripple in Time: Opening Celebration and Artist Performance
Join us to celebrate the opening of A Ripple in Time, a new immersive installation by artist Gary Stewart.
This exhibition explores how the past, present, and future converge through a dynamic blend of sound, video, and historical objects, all woven together to create a unique, ever-changing experience. Questions around identity and belonging underpin the work: Who are we? How do we define ourselves? Why do we feel compelled to accentuate our differences rather than our commonalities?
You are invited to see the artist at work in the ‘final tuning’ of the exhibition from 3pm on 6 July. The celebration event starts at 5pm on the same day, with a collaborative musical performance by Gary Stewart and cellist Kate Shortt.
Enjoy a celebratory glass and a chance to meet the artist, gaining insights into his creative process.
A Ripple in Time opens 6 July 2024 at Orleans House Gallery, with a preview week 6 July – 14 July. The show is open to the public until 23 February 2025. The exhibition is the outcome of Gary Stewart’s research into the Richmond Borough Art Collection which began in February 2024.
